Our Pastor

Pastor Allen Casstevens

Pastor Allen Casstevens believes that at the heart of pastoral ministry is a simple but important calling: helping people grow closer to Jesus Christ.

Whether through preaching and teaching, conversations over a cup of coffee, walking with someone through a difficult season, or helping people discover how Scripture speaks into everyday life, Allen wants people to know that the church—and their pastor—is a place where they can come with questions, struggles, and a desire to grow in faith.

A native of the Kernersville area, Allen graduated from North Carolina A&T State University with a degree in Engineering and later earned his Master of Business Administration from High Point University. Before entering pastoral ministry, he spent more than 20 years in leadership in the energy and natural gas industry.

Allen’s journey into pastoral ministry took an important turn in 2022 during a visit to the Holy Land. Walking through many of the places where the events of Scripture took place deepened his faith and helped him recognize God’s call to ministry.

He later enrolled in the Presbyterian Church (USA)’s Church Leadership School and completed the coursework to serve as a Commissioned Ruling Elder. Before becoming pastor of Moravia Moravian Church, Allen served on the Pulpit Expansion Team at Sherrills Ford Presbyterian Church and provided pulpit supply for congregations throughout Western and Piedmont North Carolina.

As a pastor, Allen especially enjoys helping people understand the Bible and see how its message continues to speak into the realities of life today. His desire is not simply to share information about Christianity, but to help people know Christ more deeply and allow that relationship to shape how they live.

Allen also believes that pastors should be approachable. You do not have to have everything figured out before walking through the doors of the church. Whether you have followed Christ for decades, are returning to church after being away, or are simply trying to understand what you believe, you are welcome to come, ask questions, and be part of the conversation.

Outside of ministry, Allen enjoys researching and collecting rare coins, traveling to places connected to biblical history, and spending time with his family.

Pastor Allen considers it a privilege to serve Moravia Moravian Church and looks forward to meeting you.
